Home Network
Previous Networking Experience:
I currently don't hold any practical experience related to jobs, however i do have practical experience i have learnt by my self.
I have a small scale network located at home which is the following:
I have one ADSL Router/Switch (Netgear DG814) that is used to connect to the internet using Nildram as the ADSL ISP Provider. This is located downstairs by the phone line. I then have a CAT5e cable going from downstairs to upstairs which is connected to a Netgear Hub to provide the upstairs with internet & network connectivity. There are 3 computers located up stairs in different rooms which are connected to this Hub using CAT5e cabling.
Downstairs there are 1 computer and laptop connected to the ADSL Router/Switch via CAT5e cabling. There is also an AP (Access Point) connected to the ADSL Router/Switch to allow wireless throughout the house, this is restricted by MAC Addresses to provide a secure wireless in the house.

This network is running as peer to peer. I would use a server but basically i'm not allowed to leave a computer running 24/7. Given the chance i would be running Microsoft windows 2003 Server with a domain called "Starky", Active Directory for usernames & passwords with a DHCP server running to assign computers with static IP's. At the moment all computers have there own IP Addresses ranging from 192.168.0.1(Router) to 192.168.0.8.
